Merger Creates New Global Organization Building the Capacity of NGOs
Three leading providers of learning and capacity development for non-governmental organizations have announced they are joining forces in their work to advance operational excellence for social good.
Inside NGO is a Washington, DC-based member association of international and non-governmental organizations. LINGOs is a nonprofit capacity building organization specializing in eLearning for NGOs. Mango is a UK-registered charity and social enterprise specializing in financial management for humanitarian and development organizations. The three have joined forces to become Humentum, a new global organization that supports operational excellence among development, humanitarian, civil society, and other international social sector organizations.
Scott Cotenoff, who with Heather Gowdy worked with InsideNGO ,LINGOs, and Mango to shape this partnership, notes that the fusion of different organizational cultures and ways of working was distinctive for these groups. “Not only do staff work in different countries, but some work in offices while others work virtually/remotely. Creating a shared culture for the new organization has been an opportunity for the partner organizations to acknowledge and value what these differences bring and how to combine them to work most effectively with their clients.”
