Black & Bold
Black & Bold: Perspectives on Leadership
Black & Bold: Perspectives on Leadership is an effort to affirm, promote, and elevate the experiences of Black leaders who are their ancestors’ wildest dreams.
Black achievement has always taken place in a country where white supremacy has challenged the ability of individuals and communities to consistently succeed. Historically, that has contributed to the racial disparities that exist in health, wealth, access to leadership, and other domains. Even today there are many legacy systems and biases that remain to be addressed.
Despite the hostile environment, there have always been – and always will be – beacons of excellence and aspiration. Originally created in 2018 by Makiyah Moody, with a focus on amplifying the voices and journeys of Black women. Each interview explores Black leaders’ identity, finding one’s voice, negotiating values tensions, and developing as a leader in the social sector.
