Meet Amia,
one of our Senior Consultants.
Amia Grashin (she/her) is a dedicated professional committed to making meaningful change. Her work at La Piana is driven by a passion for creating well-designed and thoughtful engagements in collaboration with clients. Building strong relationships through careful listening, trust-building, and a focus on solutions is a top priority for her. Amia has a deep understanding of organizational dynamics and a keen ability to identify what is most important for project success, which helps her bring value to every engagement. She is particularly focused on practical solutions that allow clients to effectively implement and sustain strategies, partnerships, and practices.
Amia has a background in education and a specialty in working with at-risk youth. Prior to joining La Piana in 2015, she worked as deputy campus director with Citizen Schools and was an educator at Tilden Preparatory School. She currently serves on the board of Acta Non Verba: Youth Urban Farm Project in Oakland.
Impact Approach | Amia works with clients to make their work more effective and sustainable by helping to ensure their visions become reality and by bringing practical solutions to any obstacles they may face. She believes it is an honor to support her clients as they work to have a greater impact — it is the reason she does this work. Amia has worked with over 250 nonprofits and foundations in every subsector and of every size during her time at La Piana. |

Outside of Work | When not working, Amia can be found with friends and family enjoying good food, hiking a mountain, or exploring a beach. She is drawn to exploring new places and does so every chance she gets. |
