Black and Bold: Reject the Status Quo

Since 2018, Makiyah Moody, Senior Manager, has interviewed 86 Black women with a focus on Black female identity and leadership, who are making their mark in the social sector. Each conversation sheds light on their leadership experiences, and fuels inspiration for others.

Black & Bold: Perspectives on Leadership is a rejection of the status quo and a resistance to the fallacy of white supremacy. This blog series seeks to amplify the voices of Black women, presenting examples and proof points of the diverse pathways they have forged in a world that wasn’t created for them. From powerful quotes to shared moments in music, we invite you to journey through our past Black and Bold interviews. Their themes are timeless, and their lessons are plentiful. It is our hope that from every word captured from these conversations, women can find inspiration to continue their work in the social sector.
