International Humanitarian NGOs Announce Merger
Lutheran World Relief (LWR) and IMA World Health have announced that they are joining forces to increase their impact on breaking the cycle of poverty and supporting healthy families and communities throughout the world.
The integration of these two already strong organizations will result in a $140 million a year international NGO with 550 staff in 21 countries. The importance of this partnership is featured in a front page article and video from The Baltimore Sun, and in a joint blog post by Daniel Speckhard, President and CEO of LWR (who will head the merged organization) and Rick Santos, President and CEO of IMA World Health (who will serve as a senior advisor during the merger).
La Piana Consulting is grateful for the opportunity to help these two organizations realize their goal of combining forces. Jo DeBolt, Partner at La Piana, says: “In my work with them, I’ve been impressed with the thorough and thoughtful approach taken by board and staff leadership. They are well-positioned to achieve greater impact in improving the lives of millions around the world.”
