Introducing Habitat for Humanity Monterey Bay

On September 8, Habitat for Humanity Santa Cruz County and Monterey County Habitat for Humanity, announced their merger to form Habitat for Humanity Monterey Bay. A key focus for the new organization will be to continue to work with the community and volunteers to build affordable housing in Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties.

Plans for the merger developed over the past year following a Strategic Restructuring workshop sponsored jointly by Community Foundation Santa Cruz County, the Community Foundation for Monterey County, and The David and Lucile Packard Foundation.

The new entity will be an approved affiliate of Habitat International, which has more than 1,400 affiliates across the nation and is active in building affordable housing in more than 70 developing countries around the world.
